Lancaster Academy is part of the Learning without Limits Academy Trust that formed in 2016 set up to serve 

the communities of Leicester City and the surrounding areas. The Trust now supports five schools, across both primary and secondary phase. We work closely with other schools in the trust and benefit greatly from the relationship.

The close geographical location of our schools means that we can easily share opportunities and experiences that significantly improve the life chances of our students. Put simply, together we achieve more.

Lancaster Academy is a community committed to nurturing 'business ready' school leavers of the future. From level 1 apprenticeships through to degree level entry into the business world, the curriculum at Lancaster Academy prepares students for the right route.

We are proud to offer a wide range of learning experiences with a distinctive business and enterprise dimension such as: 

• business-related specialist subjects, such as GCSE Economics and Computer Science 
• high quality, high status, vocational courses such as BTEC Business Studies 
• hands-on, practical work-related learning in food technology, music and performing arts 
• explicit teaching of employment skills and economic understanding underpinned by a firm foundation in literacy and numeracy 
• a highly focused, 'Gatsby' bench-marked, careers curriculum rooted in 'what really works' to prepare students for the future 

We know that our students benefit from active learning with people from the real world of work and engagement with highly aspirational people from Business. Hence, we co-host 'business related' activities like a Living Library, Study Skills conferences, a CV writing competition and Preparation for Work workshops.

Our students have a comprehensive understanding of what employers want from their employees. Through our business links we offer 'READY for the Future' enrichment days, individual and group mentoring, internships and partnerships with Leicester University Business School and local further education providers.
